More Gigs. More Tacos. Less Guesswork.
That is what More Taco Gigs is about: practical tools, real strategies, and honest advice from someone who has done the work.
I know what it is like to stand at a cart on a Saturday afternoon, cooking for 150 people, knowing that when this event wraps up, next weekend’s calendar still has a hole in it.
I know what it is like to quote a wedding for 200 guests at $12 a head, follow up twice, and hear nothing back.
I ran a taco catering business in the Coachella Valley from 2012 to 2021. Over those years, the business handled more than 2,000 events. I grew it past six figures, built a team, and still had stretches where the calendar made me nervous.
The cooking part I had down. The part I had to learn (the part most taco caterers have to learn) is how to get in front of the people already searching for “taco catering near me” in your area.
That is what More Taco Gigs is about. Practical tools, real strategies, and honest advice from someone who has done the work.

Someone Who Has Stood Behind the Cart
I started my taco catering business in 2012. I left a corporate HR job with one cart, a cooler full of carne asada, and no marketing plan. Weddings, birthdays, corporate lunches, quinceañeras, graduation parties. If there was a backyard, venue, or parking lot, I set up and cooked.
Over the years, that business handled more than 2,000 events and grew past six figures. I learned how to price per head without leaving money on the table, how to handle a 300-guest wedding when something went wrong, and what it feels like when the calendar has more empty days than booked ones.
In 2020, I started helping other taco caterers get found online. My first taco catering buyer signed up in November of that year. He is still with me today. Since then, I have sent him thousands of real leads in Southern California, and when he expanded into Las Vegas, I started helping him there too.
That work became More Taco Gigs: real strategies, real services, and real gigs for taco caterers who already know how to cook but need more of the right people to find them first.
Sound Familiar?
You post photos of your setup on Instagram. Tacos on the grill, salsa bar laid out, the cart lined up before guests arrive. The post gets a handful of likes. Maybe a friend comments “🔥.” Then nothing. No calls. No messages asking about availability. No bookings.
You keep posting because someone told you that you have to be consistent. The likes stay the same. The phone stays quiet. You start wondering whether Instagram is a marketing tool or just a place to watch other caterers get booked.

You tried Thumbtack. Paid for leads that ghosted you the moment you followed up. Competed on price with every caterer in a 50-mile radius. Watched the same request go out to five other vendors while you wondered whether the whole thing was a waste of money. For a lot of taco caterers, it was.
You might have tried Yelp. Paid to show up in search results and still got buried behind advertisers. Bark sent you requests for events that did not match what you do. Facebook ads took your money and gave you page likes from people three states away who will never book a taco caterer.
Here is the thing: your tacos are not the problem.
You already know how to cook. You know how to show up, set up, and feed a crowd. The food is dialed in. The business side, getting in front of the right people at the right time, is where most taco caterers get stuck.
What is missing is a way to reach the people already searching for “taco catering near me” in your area. They are out there right now, pulling out their phone after someone says “we should just do tacos at the party,” and typing that exact search into Google. Every month, thousands of people run that same search in cities all over the country.
The question is whether they find you or someone else.
That is what this site is about. I help taco caterers answer that question the right way: practical steps you can take yourself, and real services if you would rather have someone handle the marketing side.
15 Things You Can Do This Week to Book More Gigs

Why the Best Taco Caterer in Town Still Stares at an Empty January
The complete playbook for filling your calendar. Covers everything from getting found on Google to working your network, building a simple system that brings in new gigs every week, and deciding when it makes sense to buy leads instead of doing the marketing work yourself. If you only read one guide on this site, start here.
How Your Taco Catering Customers Actually Search, and Why It Costs You Bookings
Real search data from thousands of queries. See exactly what your customers type into Google when they are looking for a taco caterer (“taco catering near me,” “taco truck for party,” “taquero for wedding”) and why most caterers are invisible to this demand. If you have ever wondered whether people are actually searching for taco catering in your area, this guide answers that question with real numbers.
Why Your Taco Catering Business Isn’t Showing Up on Google
Four reasons you are invisible online and how to fix each one. From a thin Google Business Profile that Google ignores to a website that does not name the cities you serve. These are the gaps that keep caterers off the map. This guide connects you to detailed walkthroughs for each fix, including how to set up your Google Business Profile the right way, how to keep it active so your rankings stick, whether you actually need a website, and how location pages help you show up in the cities where you work.
“Most marketing advice for caterers is written by people who have never cooked a taco in their life. That is why I keep everything here plain and tested. If a step did not help me book real events, or help the caterers I work with book theirs, it does not go on this site. You can take the free guides and do it all yourself, or hand the marketing to me. Either way, you are getting it from someone who stood at the cart wondering where next month’s gigs were coming from.”

Ready to Fill Your Calendar?
I put together a free checklist that walks you through the exact steps to start booking more gigs this month.
Inside, you will find fifteen practical things you can start doing today: claim your Google Business Profile, get your first reviews, build a one-page menu with per-person pricing, reach out to local event venues, set up a simple follow-up system so requests do not slip through the cracks, and more.
No theory. No fluff. Just the stuff that moves the needle.
Print it out. Stick it on the wall in your prep kitchen. Start checking things off. Each item is one concrete action with a short explanation of why it matters, so you are not guessing whether you are doing the right thing. Work through three or four items this week, and by the end of the month, your business will already be easier for customers to find.
And if you work through that checklist and realize you would rather have someone handle the marketing side for you, the services are here when you are ready.
